A cold day in winter, 1984.

(photograph by mom)

There are moments in one's life that, for no particular reason, are never forgotten. Or at least remembered for a long time. One of those was on a cold day in the winter of 1984, when my mom and dad went with us to the Twin Towers. I do not remember getting there and I don't remember going up to the observation deck. All I remember about that day was when this photograph was made, and how beautiful the sunset was, especially when looking towards the Statue of Liberty. I later concluded that during the Winter the sun would always set behind the statue, and the colors were amazing. Going up to the Twin Towers right before sunset was the best time to go, and every time I went up I remembered this moment in 1984. I wonder if this memory will now remain with me for a longer time.
